We are offering an internationally-oriented interdisciplinary scientific training for graduates of life sciences and medicine who are interested in basic and translational skin research.

The exciting research project aims to achieve a better molecular understanding of key mechanisms that determine non-melanoma skin cancer development with the goal of providing a scientific basis for effective novel intervention strategies.

The successful PhD student will:

  • Investigate the cutaneous cellular composition of precancerous skin lesions (actinic keratoses) using biochemical, cell culture and molecular biology techniques.
  • Use 3D culture systems and molecular biological approaches to analyze functionally relevant mechanisms in initiation, development, regression or progression of actinic keratosis.
  • Utilize screening and bioinformatic approaches to identify modulators of pathways involved.

PhD students at Beiersdorf highly benefit from our supporting Research & Development environment and are using state of the art technologies.
